Mythbuster: Everything Is Chemicals (Yes, Even Your Banana)
Share
Take a good look at that ingredient list above. Intimidating, right?
That's a banana. A perfectly ordinary, completely natural banana. 🍌
It's 75% dihydrogen monoxide — also known as... water. 😉
Everything Is Chemicals. Everything.
The banana. Your soap. The air you're breathing right now. You.
Which is exactly why the phrase "chemical-free" is such a meaningless claim — and why "nasty chemicals" isn't much better. There is no such thing as chemical-free. It's a marketing phrase designed to make you feel scared, not informed.
Long Names ≠ Dangerous
Sodium chloride sounds pretty serious. It's table salt. Ascorbic acid sounds like something you'd find in a lab. It's vitamin C. Dihydrogen monoxide? Water.
The length or complexity of a chemical name tells you absolutely nothing about whether something is safe or harmful. What matters is the concentration, context, and how it's used — not how scary it sounds when you read it out loud.
Fear-Based Marketing Drives Us Nuts 🫣
We get it — "all-natural" and "chemical-free" sound reassuring. But when brands use fear of science to sell products, it does real harm. It makes people distrust perfectly safe, well-studied ingredients and reach for alternatives that may not actually be better.
At SoapyFluffs, we believe knowledge is the antidote to fear. Every ingredient we use is cosmetic-grade, skin-safe, and chosen with care. If you ever have a question about anything on our ingredient list — no matter how unpronounceable — just ask. We're always happy to explain. 🥰
Because you deserve facts, not fear.
